I'm Back....I think

OK, so I’m a decent father and a terrible journal keeper. The good news is Jackson is still alive and well. The bad news is that I haven’t been keeping up with my bloggin as I promised to myself.

I have started many journals in the past, and I realized at the outset of my Daddy Experience journal that I would eventually fall off the map. This means that what I am writing will most likely not be read since most of my readers are spending energy on more reliable sources of information and humor.

On the one hand this is extremely positive since I am experiencing my son’s life through my own eyes, and I am so completely focused on him that I simply just don’t have time to write about the experience.

On the other hand, I am very good at justifying my downfalls, which is why my family has called me a champion of bullshit all these years.

Jackson is over eight months old now, and I am committed to getting more writing done….I hope.

Holidays

That’s right! The holidays are upon us. All set for Rohatsu, the Japanese observance of the enlightenment of Buddha? I bet you can’t wait to meditate all through the night on the 8th. I know I can’t. Little Jackson has been practicing his buddha position for months.

Later in the month, we will celebrate Jackson’s first Chanukah and Christmas. Although we don’t believe in the Jewish or Christian Mythology, we’ll take part in the festivities just because FUN is FUN no matter which space-god you worship. Shit, I might even light the seven candles of Kwanzaa this year with my good friend Obama. If it means I get to dress my little guy up in another cute outfit and send cards out, why not?!?
P.S. - Is it any surprise that the spell check didn’t recognize Rohatsu?
